Heat.net and the @Home Network are hoping to lure a few of DWANGO's users over to their servers, now that DWANGO has shut down. The two companies are offering 10,000 "Degrees" to anyone who visits the @Home site and signs up for the @Home high-speed Internet via cable system between now and Nov. 30.
Degrees are Heat.net's currency - they're frequent player points used on Heat.net to net prizes, make purchases in the HEAT store, and wager with other players on the outcomes of matches.
"With this offer, we're welcoming DWANGO users with open arms," said Rich Pearson, director of marketing for Heat.net. "DWANGO users are accustomed to high-speed gaming, and by taking advantage of @Home's broadband backbone, we are offering them exactly what they want: fragwith no lag. This service is actually much faster than their old DWANGO connections."
