Dungeons & Dragons Online receives second add-on
Dungeons & Dragons Online receives second add-on-January 2024
Jan 11, 2025 8:47 PM

Upon its release in February, Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach was well received by critics, but, as a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, it was cited for a few shortcomings, namely the lack of solo-based gameplay. Recently, developer Turbine has attempted to answer critics by offering players more dungeons and dragons--new content, a week-long free trial, and the addition of solo adventures.

Now the company has announced the release of the game's latest story module, Twilight Forge, a free download for subscribers of Dungeons & Dragons Online. Since the game's launch, the other content releases and Twilight Forge have combined to increase the size of the MMORPG by 25 percent, said Turbine President and CEO Jeffrey Anderson.

Other than story content, Turbine and publisher Atari announced several more nitty-gritty additions to the gameplay, among them a journal to track completed quests, a new playable race (the Drow), an in-game messaging system, upgraded grouping tools, and more items, inventory space, and monsters. The new enemies include the Mindflayer, Ogre Magi, and Warforged Titan--all baddies found in Dungeons & Dragons lore. The makers of Dungeons & Dragons Online have also posted a list of every new update to the game on its Web site.
