Duke Nukem Disappearing from Digital Platforms This Week
Duke Nukem Disappearing from Digital Platforms This Week-October 2024
Oct 19, 2024 1:32 AM

He came to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and now Duke Nukem is disappearing from Good Old Games.

The 3D Realms Anthology will also be being removed from Steam as well, with the retro collection disappearing on December 31.

Publishing rights issues means that the current releases will no longer be available for sale, but those that have already bought the titles will still be able to download them.

If the new publisher - presumably Duke Nukem Forever developer Gearbox - wants to reissue the titles, it's likely that the dip in availability could be brief, but those that want the retro classics and have been holding off should pick them up before the end of this week.

Titles that will no longer be available include the first two Duke Nukem games, Duke Nukem 3D, Balls of Steel and Manhattan Project. It is expected that all versions of the games - including those on consoles - could be affected, but the only confirmed removals are from GoG and the anthology.

In a post on GoG, a spokesperson wrote:

This is not where the Duke Nukem legacy ends, but it is where we part ways - for now. So Farewell, Duke! The sale will last until December 31, 10:59 AM GMT.

To celebrate the franchise, and to make sure that anybody who wants it has a chance to buy it, GoG are selling the entire collection for 90% off, or each title individually at 75% off.
