Not surprisingly, Driver 2 looks and plays a lot like the original. In the demo that was playable at E3 you could only pick a car and drive it around a generic city, smashing into other cars and dodging cops.
The car in the playable demo on the show floor was a '57 Chevy - an entirely different car from the ones we've seen in the screenshots of the game, meaning Driver 2 will probably feature different selectable cars. This is very cool, and was one of my complaints from the original game.
The graphics looked a bit cleaner, and the pop-up has been pushed back quite a bit. The sound was a bit generic at this point, and the music was placeholder. The collisions, however, were incredible. Huge stacks and T-bones were the name of the game as I plowed around corners and into slow-moving cars. Being such a vandal was a lot of fun.
