Update 2: The Driveclub Twitter account has posted a message saying, "Store update today with the Driveclub PS+ Edition was premature. The servers aren't ready yet, so it's been removed while we get them ready." There's still no ETA for exactly when it will return.
Update: It appears the Plus Edition went live earlier than intended, as the PlayStation Store page has been taken down. We'll keep an eye on its status and update you with anything more we learn.
Original Story: Following what feels like countless delays, the free PlayStation Plus Edition of PS4 racing game Driveclub is now available on the PlayStation Store.

Driveclub: PlayStation Plus Edition offers a mix of single- and multiplayer content. According to the PSN listing, it offers "every Driveclub feature," including "online multiplayer matches and challenges, to offline solo racing, Tour events, customization, replays, Photo Mode, and more." It also contains all 13 of India's tracks, 15 cars, and 27 trophies, including the Platinum.
As the name suggests, you'll need a PlayStation Plus subscription in order to download and play this free version of the game. Upgrading to the full version gets you 40+ additional cars and five other locations (comprising 65 total tracks).
Driveclub and its accompanying Plus Edition were originally slated to be out alongside the PS4 back in 2013. They ended up being pushed back almost a full year, to October 2014. When the full game launched with serious issues, the Plus Edition's release was delayed indefinitely.
Despite the extended wait, Sony repeatedly insisted that this version hadn't been canceled. When developer Evolution Studios was hit with layoffs in March, Sony claimed it would "now focus on Driveclub as a service going forward, in particular, the important launch of the PS Plus Edition." Earlier this month, director Paul Rustchynsky said the Plus Edition was "in the final stages of development."
