Dragon’s Dogma 2 Shows Off a New Story Trailer, a Giant Boss, the Trickster Class, and More-October 2024
Oct 19, 2024 12:35 PM

Earlier this morning, Capcom let slip the release date for the aniticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2, and now they’ve served up a new showcase featuring a meaty chunk of new gameplay. The Dragon’s Dogma 2 Showcase offers up new story details, as well as a look at the game's Trickster vocation, Shadow-of-the-Colossus-style bosses, and more. You can check it all out below, provided you have around 15 minutes to spare.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 features a similar setup to the original game, with players taking on the role of the Arisen who’s had their heart stolen by the Dragon. That said, Capcom stresses this game takes place in a new parallel world, with the narrative not necessarily following from the first game. This time around, you’ll be plunged into royal intrigue, as a queen looks to usurp power with a false Arisen, and the Humans, Beastern, and others vie for power.

In terms of gameplay, the showcase provides a peek at the new Trickster class, which can boost allies and distract enemies with elaborate illusions. A good option for those who want to sit back and command their pawns rather than get their hands dirty. Capcom also showed off a battle with a Giant Talos – a massive colossus you’ll need to climb onto in order to reach its many weak spots. Sidequests will be a part of the game too, with Capcom showing off one where you have to save an Elven princess for an ogre. Meanwhile, character creation now offers more detail and realism thanks to photogrammetry.

Capcom has also detailed the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition, which will set you back $80. This version of the game will include a variety of handy items that will help you along your way, including...
