Dragon Warrior III Headed to North America-November 2024
Nov 1, 2024 2:32 AM

Enix has announced that Dragon Warrior III for the Game Boy Color will be released in the North American market. Enix has already begun the game's localization process, and it has announced a 2001 release date until a more solid date can be finalized. The Dragon Warrior series, know as Dragon Quest in Japan, is produced by Yuji Horii; its character design is by Akira Toriyama, who worked on the Dragon Ball Z comics and cartoon; and its music is composed by Koichi Sugiyama, whose works include music for G-Force and Ultraman.

Features new to the Game Boy Color version of Dragon Warrior III include a field log so players can save their game at any time, a system for collecting and trading monster medals, improved combat animation, bigger sprites, larger text fonts, and a new minigame.

"This isn't the Dragon Warrior III from your childhood," said Paul Handelman, president of Enix America. "We're pleased to bring North American gamers an all-new Dragon Warrior III with tons of new features and a new translation that really captures Horii's delightful style and sense of humor that has made the game so popular in Japan."

Enix has also released Dragon Warrior I and Dragon Warrior II for the Game Boy Color.
