Psygnosis will debut its first US-produced PC title, Drakan, at E3 next month.

　　Drakan, which is a working title for the game, is a 3D action adventure.

　　Developed by Seattle, Wash.-based Surreal Software, Drakan lets gamers control two characters along with a powerful dragon sidekick. First there is Rynn, a female acrobatic, sword-wielding warrior who battles her sworn enemy - the evil sorcerer Kulrick. And then there is Rynn's faithful dragon companion Arokh.

　　Kulrick has cast a spell that has plunged the world into darkness and Rynn is cast as the only savior as she battles him in the skies and on the ground.

　　The third-person title will use two styles of play: ground and aerial. Interestingly, the screenshots Psygnosis has made available give the game a Tomb Raider meets Panzer Dragoon feel.

　　Rynn will get to fight with over 50 different weapons including swords, spears, crossbows, and maces along with several spells. With over 150 animations, Rynns will be able to have a full workout with both upper and lower body movement.

　　Arock's arsenal includes breathing fire and the use of projectile weapons like lava, fireballs, and ice.

　　Drakan features 14 multi-mission levels in five organically rendered worlds. On the engine side, the game includes a single-skin skeletal animation system and layer technology for seamless movement between environments.

　　Alongside the single player mode, Draken supports multiplayer options over the Internet or a LAN for up to eight players and two for a modem-to-modem connection. Hardware requirements will ask for a Pentium 166, 16 MB RAM, and a 3D accelerator when it releases January 1999.
