Upcoming open-world role-playing game Dragon Age: Inquisition, the latest RPG from BioWare, has gone gold across all platforms. That means development on the game is finished ahead of its release later this month for consoles and PC.

"This milestone is a testament to the hard work of the developers (and their families!) who put so much into this game, and took on every challenge that was put before them," executive producer Mark Darrah said in a post on BioWare's website. "That we've made it this far is also an acknowledgment of tremendous support and patience from our fans: you've been an inspiration to us since the beginning."

Work on Inquisition began back in 2010, before BioWare had even completed Dragon Age II, Darrah said. He explained that BioWare's goal for Inquisition was to "tell the biggest story we'd ever told in the Dragon Age universe." The game, which runs on the Frostbite 3 engine, was originally targeted to launch in fall 2013, before being delayed a couple times to its new release date of November 18.

"Looking over the vastness of the game we've finished, it really is the Dragon Age experience we've always wanted to make for you," Darrah explained. "The biggest story of the year is yours to play, very, very soon. Thank you."

We recently got to play around four hours of Inquisition. You can see our impressions of the RPG in the video embedded at the top of this post. Inquisition is coming to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.
