Dragon Age Dreadwolf 2024 Release Date Mentioned by EA Developer-September 2024
Sep 21, 2024 12:37 AM

A former Dragon Age Dreadwolf animator has mentioned a 2024 release date for the highly anticipated next entry in the franchise.

Back in May of this year, we reported that Bioware's Dreadwolf likely won't be out before April next year, and several months later, the usually well-informed Jeff Grubb claimed that the game is targeting a Summer 2024 release at the earliest. As also mentioned by the journalist, a late 2024 release would be more likely. "They moved the internal expectations to March 2024 a while ago", Grubb said back in August. "Guess what? It's not coming out then, either. It's been pushed back again. It is not coming out until Summer 2024 at the earliest at this point."

He continued, "This is not them talking publically, this is from my reporting. But if it moves again, don't be surprised in any way. I think it's very likely it will be moved back even further. I expect this game to launch probably by the end of next year."

EA and BioWare haven't openly commented on the release frame of the game, but as now spotted by industry job spotter 'Timur222' on X (formerly Twitter), an EA employee also mentioned a 2024 release for the game. The reference to the 2024 release for Dreadwolf has since been edited, but 'Timur222' managed to take a screenshot of the release year (the LinkedIn profile of the animator now mentions "TBD" instead of "2024").

Dragon Age 4 Dreadwolf will launch on a yet-to-be-confirmed release date for PC and consoles. Last year, BioWare provided an update about the game, saying that the team was moving closer to completion.

"Up to this point, we’ve been working hard on the various parts of the game, but it’s not until the Alpha milestone that a game all comes together", Bioware's Gary McKay wrote. "Now, for the first time, we can experience the entire game, from the opening scenes of the first mission to the very end. We can see, hear, feel, and play everything as a cohesive experience."
