Dragon Age senior creative director Matt Goldman has left BioWare. GM Gary McKay informed staff of Goldman's departure in an email obtained by Kotaku. In the message, McKay said, "We have mutually agreed to part ways, and his last day is today."
McKay added that BioWare remains committed to making the new Dragon Age game the best it can be, even with Goldman leaving the team. "Rest assured our commitment to a high-quality Dragon Age game has not wavered, and we will not ship a game that is not up to BioWare's standards," McKay said.

Now Playing: Dragon Age Trailer | Game Awards 2020
"We, including EA's executive team, have absolute confidence in the leadership here at the studio and the people working on this game to carry forward our vision," McKay added.
There is no word on why Goldman and BioWare decided to part ways, or where Goldman may be headed next. Similarly, we don't know who might be taking over for Goldman.
Goldman started at BioWare in 1998 and spent 7.5 years as the company's art director for Jade Empire, Baldur's Gate 2, and MDK2, according to his LinkedIn page. He moved to Microsoft in 2006 to become the art lead for Halo Wars before returning to BioWare in 2009 as the art director on Dragon Age: Origins. He was promoted to senior creative director for the entire Dragon Age series in 2017.
A teaser trailer for the new Dragon Age game was shown during The Game Awards in 2020, but whether or not BioWare has anything to show at this year's event is unknown.
The new Dragon Age is one of multiple high-profile projects in development at BioWare right now, the other one being a new Mass Effect title. There is no word on when either game will release.
