Nintendo's online stores for the DSi and Wii are getting a fresh infusion of new blood this week, courtesy of the iPhone specialists at Chillingo. The publisher's gothic adventure series headlines the week's Nintendo Store update, as Dracula - Undead Awakening spreads its wings on WiiWare for 1,000 Wii points ($10), while the DSi edition can be had for 500 DSi points ($5).
The only other new addition to WiiWare this week comes from Press Play. Titled Max & the Magic Marker, the 1,000-point ($10) puzzle platformer challenges players to clear obstacles by drawing useful objects onscreen in a fashion not unlike 2007 Independent Game Festival winner Crayon Physics Deluxe. Wii gamers can alternatively pick up Square Enix's Final Fantasy II through the Virtual Console for 800 Wii points ($8).
Dracula has perfected that whole resurrection thing. As for Nintendo's handheld, gamers have a number of options. Lbxgames' fantasy card game Elemental Masters lets up to two players collect and battle more than 100 different mythical beasts for 800 DSi points ($8). Agenius Interactive's 4 Travellers - Play Spanish is also a card game that costs 800 DSi points. However, those cards are of the flash variety, as the game seeks to teach gamers Spanish.
Following up on last week's release of Flips: Terror in Cubicle Four, EA has Flips: The Bubonic Builders on offer for the DSi. The 500 DSi-point ($5) mystery title is based on the Flips reading aide books, and this adventure tells the story of a group of slack-off maintenance men who have been charged with fixing a toilet in the little-girl's room of St. Sebastian's Elementary School.
