Dr. Evil Is Back And He's Taking Credit For Donald Trump's Ideas
Dr. Evil Is Back And He's Taking Credit For Donald Trump's Ideas-October 2024

It's been nearly 16 years since the world last saw Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) in 2002's Austin Powers in Goldmember. Since then, though, it seems the pale, bald supervillain has been keeping busy--most recently with a job in President Donald Trump's administration.

Myers reprised his role as Dr. Evil during an appearance on The Tonight Show, to discuss his being fired from the White House and all of the evil ideas he put into play. According to Dr. Evil, he's the man behind the behind the president's proposed space force, along with the infamous wall on the border between Mexico and California. "I wanted it to be a moat filled with spiky blowfish," he says. "But I didn't want Mexicans to pay for it. I wanted Alec Baldwin to pay for it."

Now that he's out of the White House, Dr. Evil says he will run for president in the next election, with the slogan, "Make the world evil again." His running mate is none other than Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg, "the only man who's more hated now than Donald Trump," the supervillain says.

It's a truly silly appearance, but one worth watching if only to see how easily Myers can still slip into the character after all of these years. The only question is what made Dr. Evil revisit villainy after Goldmember. After all, at the end of Goldmember, he has given up the life of being an evil mastermind. Perhaps Myers should get to work on another Austin Powers movie to explain the character's return to the dark side.
