The power ranking series will run on a fortnightly basis looking back at the Dota 2 team's performance from the previous two weeks. We will pick the top four teams based on our opinion and will publish separate rankings for the Western and Eastern sides of the scene.
1. Natus Vincere
A strong showing from Na'Vi at both MLG Columbus and DreamHack Winter 2013 has helped to push them to the number one spot. At MLG Columbus Na'Vi fell at the semifinal stage to the Eastern powerhouse Team DK in a very close best of three series that ended 2-1.
Moving forward Na'Vi attended DreamHack Winter 2013 and displayed their strongest form of the month which allowed them to defeat both Alliance and Fnatic in a best of five series taking all three games in both sets flawlessly.
2. Fnatic
Fnatic's performance throughout the month has been increasing on a steady basis, the second slot was an extremely close tie between Fnatic and Speed Gaming.int. It was Fnatic's online performance since DreamHack Winter 2013 that pushed them into the second slot which has so far resulted in them not losing a single game since the defeat from Na'Vi at the DreamHack Winter Grand Finals.
Their most notable games since DreamHack were in the D2L Season 4 group stage where they achieved a 2-1 victory over Na'Vi in a best of three series for the along with a 3-1 victory over Team Liquid in a best of five series which nets them a spot at the Las Vegas offline finals.
3. Speed Gaming.int
Speed Gaming.int's rise in the rankings can be put down to their strong recent form, their biggest achieve in the last month would be their visit to MLG Columbus in which they were able to turn around a full day of loses on the first day 0-3 into a 5-0 victory fest on the second day which carried them into the playoffs where they were able to defeat the second place group stage team Sigma.int 2-0 in a best of three series moving them on to the Grand Finals to face against the Eastern giants Team DK.
Their performance against Team DK made for one of the most entertaining finals since The International 2013. They finished the best of three series 2-1 with their only lost coming down to a mistake made in the late game which cost them all of their racks.
4. Alliance
Alliance's recent performance has been on a bit of a down fall as of recent, they were also attendees at both MLG Columbus and DreamHack Winter 2013. Their performance at MLG left them unable to make it out of the round robin group stages, a somewhat regular/predictable hero lineup was one of the reasons a number of teams gave which allowed them to succeed against the International 2013 champions.
Their performance at DreamHack was also pretty similar which saw them dropping down to the lower brackets after losing to Fnatic on the first day. They met Team Liquid in the lower brackets who they were able to defeat 3-0 in a best of five series however were unable to match Na'Vi losing all three of their games in the best of five series during the lower bracket finals.
