DOOM is very close to release now, and in just a few days fans of the classic franchise created by id Software will finally be able to see for themselves how the gameplay experience of the series has evolved in its latest iteration. Some lucky DOOM fans already managed to get their hands on earlier copies of the game, as reported yesterday, and new gameplay footage and screenshots have emerged online.

　　The new DOOM gameplay video, which can be watched by going here, showcases the game's starting sequences as well as an early game mission called Rip and Tear Mission. Despite showcasing some early game sequences, the video still includes some light spoilers, so avoid watching it if you want DOOM to be a complete surprise for you when it launches later this week.

　　Some new DOOM screenshots have also come in today thanks to NeoGAF forums member Jakartalado. These screenshots are relatively spoiler free, so you can check them out without getting any major surprise ruined.

　　Yesterday, one lucky DOOM fan who has managed to get an early Xbox One copy of the game shared his own impressions after playing the game for a few hours. He noted how the game looks and runs great on Xbox One, with very few slowdowns and some minor tearing which don't seem to impact the game too much. He also added that the game features plenty of exploration in the vein of classic first person games, with plenty of collectibles and some very interesting hidden secret areas. He also expressed some doubts on the game's pacing, feeling that not everybody is going to like it.
