DJ Hero 3D Hands-On
DJ Hero 3D Hands-On-November 2024
Nov 24, 2024 9:06 PM

No turntables, microphones, or other peripherals take up space; DJ Hero 3D on the 3DS lets you pretend you're a DJ with just a stylus. For the uncoordinated, this might be a better alternative than pushing plastic buttons while moving the fader and scratching to the beat. No tracklist has been revealed yet, but we tested out the controls and checked out the visuals to see what the experience would be like in 3D.

  Hey Mr. DJ.

DJ Hero 3D is what you'd expect in terms of visuals for a rhythm game. You have a DJ in the background, the note highway takes up half the screen, and the touch screen is used to tap, slide and scratch. What's different is that the 3D effects will pop out at you as you're navigating menus, and the note highway looks as though it's coming out of your screen.

When the colored buttons appear, you tap the screen to the beat and slide left or right when you see arrows come up. It's fairly self-explanatory, especially when it comes to scratching. Just scratch with the stylus when the icon appears. We didn't have a lot of time to try the game again on hard mode, but if you want to listen to music while you commute and engage your fingers, look for DJ Hero 3D when it is released on the 3DS.
