If a recent tweet from Frostbite's technical director is to be believed, DICE is forming a small & collaborative VF Frostbite team in Stockholm.

DICE's technical director Johan Andersson posted said this on Twitter overnight. According Andersson, DICE has several creative and tech roles open at EA DICE.

Taking a look at DICE´s job listings, we can see that the developer is looking for a creative director, a sr. Technical artist, and several senior engineers for their virtual reality team.

The job listings don´t give any details, but all vacancies do mention that DICE is looking for employees for several projects. The following paragraph is from the senior gameplay engineer job listing

Frostbite is a technology and collaboration platform for diverse game franchises like Battlefield, Mass Effect, Need for Speed, Dragon Age and Plant vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, as well as games such as Star Wars: Battlefront, Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst and EA Sports Rory McIlroy PGA Tour.

Thousands of game developers all over the world are using Frostbite to create games with our proprietary tools. They need efficient, robust and intuitive workflows in order to create awesome games!

We have a small multi-disciplined team with Frostbite who will work on virtual reality projects and for that team we are now looking for a Sr Gameplay Engineer.

Interestingly enough, EA recently pointed out that they would show caution when it comes to virtual reality.

"There's some challenges still and I think the biggest challenge is just the size of the market. We don't make games anymore for the Wii or the Wii U because the market is not big enough, the PS Vita - the Sony product - we don't make games for that anymore because the market is too small, so it's all about the size of the market," said Blake Jorgensen during the UBS Global Technology Conference.

"I think the reality is, the next one to three years, it's probably going to take some time to build up a sizable marketplace and you might see alternative uses for virtual reality first before it becomes gaming," continued Jorgensen.

"Longer term, five plus years away, I think there's certainly a market there and it will be another exciting way to enjoy gaming."

On the Neogaf forums, excited users are already hoping for Battlefield or Battlefront VR. What are your thoughts on DICE building a VR team?
