Diamond Multimedia announced a trio of design wins for its nVidia TNT2-powered Viper V770 over the weekend. Micron, Compaq and Dell, three of North America's largest systems integrators, will integrate various Viper V770 configurations into their respective gaming-minded systems.
Micron has chosen to equip their Millennia MAX line of desktop computers with a 16 MB Viper V770, Diamond's OEM-only variant. The Millennia MAX series come powered with several processor configurations, including the price-minded Celeron 400Mhz to the beefy Pentium III 550MHz. "With the availability of the 550 MHz Pentium III processor and the new graphics technology from Diamond and nVidia, our small business and power users are getting the very best in performance for an extremely low price", says Jeff Moeser, Micron vice president of desktop products.
Meanwhile, Compaq's Prosignia 320 and 330 desktops will ship with Diamond's standard 32 MB Viper V770. Like the Millennia MAX, the Prosignia series is available with a wide variety of processors, including Intel's flagship, the Pentium III. Lastly, Diamond will supply a slightly modified version of its TNT2-powered video card to Dell Computers for use in their XPS Dimension T550 desktop computer. Called the V770D, the board comes with a standard 32 MB of SDRAM but is limited to 2X AGP support and 1920x1200 resolutions. As an aside, this is Diamond Multimedia's first ever design win with Dell.
All three Viper V770-equipped systems are available immediately from their companies' respective websites.
