Diablo 4 Servers Down For Several Hours Today and Tomorrow; Patch Inbound “Very Soon” Following Login Issues-October 2024
Oct 31, 2024 8:50 PM

Diablo 4 servers will be down for several hours later today and tomorrow for scheduled maintenance, Blizzard has confirmed.

Not one, but two maintenance windows have been announced for Diablo 4 with the first one kicking off later today at 9:00 AM PDT. According to Blizzard, maintenance will last for roughly 5 hours and the game's servers will be back online at 2:00 PM PDT. "During this time, players may experience interruptions of service including disconnects, but should be able to log back in", Blizzard writes.

Whether this maintenance is related to the server issues and DDOS issues over the weekend is not really sure, but Blizzard's Global Community Development Director Adam Fletcher did say yesterday that a patch will be released "very very soon".

  Very very soon.

In addition to today's maintenance, Diablo 4 servers will be down tomorrow for several hours as well for extended maintenance. According to Blizzard, tomorrow's maintenance will last for roughly 4.5 hours between 9.30 AM PDT and 2:00 PM PDT.

Since today's maintenance was added after the scheduled server maintenance for tomorrow, it's likely that tomorrow will be the day that players will be receiving a new update. We'll update you as soon as more information about Diablo 4's servers and upcoming patches comes in.

Diablo 4 is available globally now for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. The highly-anticipated sequel to 2012's Diablo 3 was released earlier this month, and as reported by Blizzard, the game has already become Blizzard's fastest-selling game ever (although this is based on pre-order sales).

Here's what we wrote about Diablo 4 in our launch review, praising the game's atmosphere, visuals, combat, intriguing story, improved skill system, and soundtrack. "Diablo IV is a return to form at a much-needed time for Blizzard", we wrote. "It delivers incredibly fun hack and slash action combat, a greatly improved skill system, and a ton of things to do, not to mention the best story told in the franchise yet. It also looks awesome, sounds great, and runs well (except for rare instances of traversal stuttering). That said, it sticks a little bit too closely to the rulebook, which works against it in a few areas. The open world is not as dynamic as one could have hoped, with events getting repetitive rather quickly. The side content doesn't provide any real narrative juice, and the endgame replayability may not be as deep as needed due to limited randomization and lack of certain features."
