Something new may be brewing for the Devil May Cry series, as the composer of the fifth entry in the series recently hinted at something.
On his Instagram profile, composer Casey Edwards hinted at returning to compose new official music for the series. Not much else has been said, so the composer could be making music for a new entry in the series or for another related project, such as the upcoming new anime series.
Nevertheless, it is great to hear Casey Edwards may be working on the Devil May Cry franchise again, as he composed some absolute bangers for the fifth entry in the series, such as Nero's theme Devil Trigger and Vergil's theme Bury the Light. The excellent soundtrack is just one of the many excellent features that define Devil May Cry 5 and make it one of the best entries in the series, if not the very best, as I highlighted in my review.
Devil May Cry 5 is the best entry in the series and one of the best character action games ever released. In addition to its excellent combat mechanics and level design, which expand greatly on the elements introduced in past games, the story and characters had never before received such focus in Devil May Cry. The game may be lacking in extra content such as the fan-favorite Bloody Palace mode at launch, but don't let this small flaw prevent you from getting what will surely be one of the 2019 Game of the Year contenders.
A new entry in the Devil May Cry series has yet to be announced. With Dragon's Dogma 2 launching in a few months, however, there's a good chance Hideaki Itsuno and his team may move on to work on the next demon-slaying romp for Dante, Nero, and Vergil.
