Deus Ex: Mankind Divided just received an official release date of February 23rd 2016. And along with that there is apparently a sort of reward system being implemented for the amount of pre-order units that are reserved worldwide.

　　The specifics of which tiers give what rewards are below, though how many are needed to reach those rewards is unknown. You'll be able to choose something from each of the tiers listed below as they become unlocked.

　　Pre-ordering doesn't exactly have the most positive with gaming due to initial issues that generally arise after release. Thus a large number of gamers tend to see the pre-order mechanism as a negative thing. Adding bonuses and rewards might seem to be a simple money-grab, a way to try to ensure profit for what might not necessarily be the best initial experience. Essentially, we've all been burned by the pre-order on a few occasions in some manner, and it's usually best to wait to see if a game fits what you're looking for.

　　Regardless, the highest tier is an interesting one, being that they'll release the game early should they have enough pre-orders. Does that mean that the game will be, or is, mostly finished? Will that effect the quality of the final product if it's released early? It might be seen as somewhat off-putting to have the game held from release unless sales goals are met, which most certainly does at least appear as a means to secure profit. Punish us if we don't pre-order (because those rewards are pre-order only, and won't be available later), but reward us if we do. It's classic Pavlovian conditioning.

　　For the first time in the franchise’s history, if players meet this tier, the game will release four days before the official release date.
