The deep blue sea is about to go black. 505 Games today announced that it will publish Biart Studio's Deep Black worldwide on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the first quarter of next year.
Right in the "cod" piece! A third-person action adventure, Deep Black will plunge players beneath the waves into a science-fiction story centering around "espionage and bio-terror." Subaquatic, harpoon-equipped jetpacks and submersibles propel gamers through Deep Black's depths, as they infiltrate bases and fight robotic adversaries.
Deep Black is not the first time upstart Russian developer Biart Studio has built a title around aquatic gameplay. The developer's own biEngine technology is specifically designed to allow for cross-platform development of games with underwater settings. It has also been used for the PSP minis release Reef Aquarium, as well as the self-explanatory Spearfishing for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and PSP, which has yet to find a publisher.
