[UPDATE] Reynolds has shed a little more light on the matter, explaining that Deadpool showing up alongside Wolverine would not work tonally.
No. I want a Deadpool/Wolvie film. But Logan is its own unique & perfect thing. The Big Red Shit-Talker wouldn't mix with the tone. https://t.co/35WpEJLJ10

The original story is below.
Actor Ryan Reynolds has spoken out to confirm that the character Deadpool will not show up in the upcoming Wolverine movie, Logan. A report today claimed that would be the case.
Sadly, not true. Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission. https://t.co/5czBmMRfY1

Prisoner 24601 is a reference to Jean Valjean, the character Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman played in Les Miserables.
The Wrap reported today that Reynolds filmed a scene as Deadpool for Logan that was said to possibly be a post-credits scene. Director James Mangold also denied that Deadpool would be in the movie.
@PotterDarth DEADPOOL IS NOT IN MY FILM. Does all caps help confirm it?

Logan is scheduled to come out in March 2017. The Deadpool sequel, meanwhile, is currently without a release date. Tim Miller, who directed the first and was on board for the sequel, recently dropped out.
