Publisher Tecmo Koei has assured that its next-gen remaster of Dead or Alive 5 will render at 1080p and run at 60 frames-per-second on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The expanded game, officially called Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, is also in development for Xbox 360 and PS3 (and will render at different frame rate and resolution on last-gen versions). The budget-priced title (starting at $30) is based on the 2012 release Dead or Alive 5, and is packaged with numerous tweaks and new content such as a wider variety of characters.
Along with demonstrating various graphical enhancements, both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will render at the same frame-rate and resolution, according to a representative speaking to Videogamer.com.
Developer Team Ninja announced the new project on Saturday, and has since said the Dead or Alive 5 Last Round release date will fall on "Spring 2015".
It will be available for $40 on PS4 and Xbox One (physical and digital) and $30 on PS3 and Xbox 360 (digital only). In the UK, the digital-only last-gen versions will cost £25 and the next-gen editions will be priced at £35.
"Dead or Alive Last Round marks an exciting step forward for the franchise, and one that fans have been asking for,” said Yosuke Hayashi of Team Ninja.
“Bringing the game to a new generation of consoles is allowing us to create the most graphically striking version of any Dead or Alive game ever, and we are very happy to give our fans the chance to experience our signature high energy fighting entertainment as only the latest consoles can deliver it.”
Last Round's character roster is said to be the biggest of any Dead or Alive game. Fighters will include: Hayabusa, Hayate, Kasumi, Ayane, Rig, Momiji, Leon, Kokoro, Tina, Lisa, Brad Wong, Jann Lee, Hitomi, Leifang, Christie, Eliot, Leon, Gen Fu, Bayman, Bass, Zack, Helena, Marie Rose, Phase 4, and newly released Nyotengu along with Akira, Pai, Jacky and Sarah Bryant from the Virtua Fighter series.
