DC's Justice League Dark Movie May Still Be Happening-October 2024
Oct 26, 2024 12:29 PM

With all the talk about Warner and DC's big superhero movies--Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice andWonder Woman--one title that has remained quiet for a while is Justice League Dark. Earlier this year, it was reported that Pacific Rim's Guillermo del Toro had left the adaptation. However, a new report suggests that the project is still very much a priority for the studio.

The Tracking Board have reported that the film is moving ahead with veteran producer Scott Rudin in charge. Their sources state that Rudin is hoping to start shooting in 2016.

Justice League Dark is a superhero team which comprises more supernatural members of the DC Universe, such as John Constantine, Madame Xanadu, Swamp Thing, and Deadman. A movie version was first rumoured in late 2012, then confirmed by writer/director del Toro in 2013.

In April this year, del Toro explained that he had submitted a script to Warner, and told IGN that the film would indeed form part of DC's Movie Universe. In June, The Hollywood Reporter stated that the director was no longer attached to the project, although The Tracking Board suggests that he will still be on board as a producer.

In June, Warner moved some of its more adult-themed DC and Vertigo properties over to subsidiary company New Line Cinema. Neil Gaiman's Sandman is under development there, while Vertigo's Preacher will appear as an AMC TV show in 2016.
