In the grim darkness of Warhammer 40,000's future, there is only war. Apparently unsatisfied with that, THQ has decided there should be more war.
To that end, the company announced today that Winter Assault, the expansion pack for its PC real-time strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, has gone gold. In addition to a new playable faction in The Imperial Guard, the Winter Assault expansion also includes new units for all factions, a single-player campaign that lets you play as the forces of order or chaos, and rebalanced units for multiplayer games.
Winter Assault is rated M for Mature and will retail for $29.99 when it ships to retailers worldwide September 19. For more on Winter Assault, check out GameSpot's designer diaries on the game.
