Dark Souls 3 has been released on PC and consoles in North America and Europe three months ago, and those who got the game at launch have probably discovered everything there is to see in the main game. Thankfully, they will be able to get back into it and enjoy new content thanks to two DLC pack, and series' creator Hidetaka Miyazaki shared some new details about what players should expect.
In a recent interview with Kotaku, Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed that the team is currently working on the first DLC pack for Dark Souls 3, and cannot provide much information right now as to not spoil any surprise. He did confirm that the first DLC's story will revolve around a new location which will offer a different feel from Dark Souls 3, which definitely sounds promising.
Kotaku: For people who have already finished Dark Souls 3, can you give any tease for the DLC? How do you intend to surprise players?
Miyazaki: I’m not sure I can provide “information” without spilling the “surprise” [laughs]. The only thing I can say now is that we’re planning two DLCs for Dark Souls 3. The first is scheduled for release in autumn of 2016, and the second is scheduled for early 2017. We’re actually still working on the first one. Content-wise, it builds off of the previous titles and will be featuring a new area, enemies, gear, and story. The game story revolves around a new location which I believe will offer a different feel from Dark Souls 3. Please stay tuned!
Even though no new content has been made available since release, Dark Souls 3 received some updates which tweaked the game's balance and added new features. The latest Regulation Version, 1.09, has been made available two weeks ago, tweaking daggers, the Dark Sword, the Greatsword of Judgement, select skills and more.
Dark Souls 3 is now available in all regions on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We will keep you updated on the game's upcoming DLC packs as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
