It's been 11 years since Disney acquired Star Wars and Lucasfilm and three sequel films, two prequel films, and almost 10 television shows later...with more in the pipeline, it looks like Star Wars will continue in perpetuity. A few projects got lost in the fold, though, getting derailed, moved around, or outright canceled.

　　Patty Jenkins was supposed to direct a Rogue Squadron movie that got shelved, but now might eventually be back on target for release down the line. There was also Colin Trevorrow directing Star Wars: Episode IX, before leaving the project entirely. On Happy Sad Confused with Josh Horowitz, another project that never saw the light of day was revealed: David Goyer wrote an unproduced Star Wars script that was to be directed by Guillermo Del Toro..

　　"It was about four years ago, and I also wrote an unproduced 'scriptment' for an origins of the Jedi movie...that took place 25,000 years before the first Star Wars film," Goyer revealed. "Dabbling in Star Wars would have been fun for me."

　　Horowitz replied that seemed like a no-brainer to make and wondered what happened. Goyer didn't go into specifics, but said there was a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff going on at Lucasfilm at the time, but said it's a "cool" script.

　　"You have to ask [Guillermo] the next time he's on. It's a cool script. There was a lot of cool artwork from it that was produced," Goyer added.

　　While Goyer wasn't able to have his movie treatment greenlit officially, he has done a few Star Wars games: Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire and Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series. Del Toro confirmed the script exists but couldn't say much more about it.

　　"True. Can't say much. Maybe two letters 'J' and 'BB' is that three letters?," the director tweeted. Could this have meant a Jabba movie? The world may never know.
