The Cyberpunk 2077 system requirements have been updated to ensure players have a better understanding of what will be needed to run the game and its expansion following the launch next update for the game and the Phantom Liberty expansion.

　　The new system requirements are obviously higher than the launch requirements, as players will need an Intel Core i7-6700 or Ryzen 5 1600 CPU and GeForce GTX 1060, Radeon RX 580 8GB or Arc A380 GPU, and 12 GB of RAM to run the game at 1080, low settings. Ray tracing system requirements are obviously much higher, and CD Project Red recommends an Intel Core i9-12900 or Ryzen 9 7900X CPU, RTX 3080 Ti or Raden RX 7900 XTX GPU, and 20 GB of RAM for optimal ray tracing performance. 24 Gb of RAM and an RTX 4080 or higher are required for the impressive ray tracing Overdrive mode, which introduces experimental path tracing to the game for superior visual and lighting quality.

　　Interestingly enough, the Cyberpunk 2077 updated requirements confirm that HDDs will no longer be supported. This is set to become a trend in the future, especially for big open-world titles, as even Bethesda's Starfield will need an SSD to run.

　　With the game needing, in general, much better hardware to run, we should expect the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty expansion to look incredible. The expansion will also introduce gameplay improvements which will elevate the experience to new heights, as we have been told recently during Summer Game Fest 2023's Play Days.

　　Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One worldwide. The Phantom Liberty expansion launches on September 26th on PC and current generation consoles only.
