Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald might be one of November's biggest movies, but it could only manage one week at the top of the US box office chart. The Harry Potter spin-off made way for two sequels that took advantage of the long Thanksgiving weekend--Ralph Breaks the Internet and Creed II.

　　It's been five years since the release of Wreck-It Ralph, but Ralph Breaks the Internet's massive weekend gross proved that there was no dip in interest for the follow-up. The film scored the second highest Thanksgiving debut of all time--behind Frozen in 2013-- and made $84.5 million over five days. As Box Office Mojo points out, Disney now holds the record for the three biggest Thanksgiving grosses ever.

　　The boxing sequel Creed II entered the US chart at No.2 and also set its own record. Its $55.8 million five-day debut is the largest opening for a live-action film over Thanksgiving, and it far outgrossed the first Creed, which opened with $29.6 million in 2015. This was another huge success for the Rocky series, which started more than 40 years ago.

　　The animated hit The Grinch dropped to one place to No.3, and has made an impressive $180 million in the three weeks. Although The Crimes of Grindelwald has fallen to No.4 after only a week in the US, the film has to date made an impressive $438 million worldwide, a number which will continue to rise as we head into December.

　　Less impressive was the weekend's other new entry, the latest version of Robin Hood. This action-packed take on the classic legend starred Kingsman's Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx and entered the chart at No.7. Robin Hood only made $9.1 million over five days, with $23 million taken worldwide in total. Considering the budget was reportedly $100 million, it ranks as one of the year's biggest flops.

　　Elsewhere, the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, comedy Instant Family, and thriller Widows were at Nos. 5, 6 and 8 respectively. The acclaimed drama Green Book rose from No.22 to No.9, having expanded its release to over 1,000 screens.
