Creative Labs' Cambridge SoundWorks speaker division is cranking up the volume on games again by announcing the availability of its new DeskTop Theatre 5.1 DTT 2500 Digital system for the PC or conventional TV audio. The system has built-in Dolby Digital 5.1 sound so you won't have to purchase additional Dolby-enabled decoder or receivers to hear the difference. And building on Creative Labs' SoundBlaster Live! audio card, the DTT2500 attaches to the Digital DIN connection for both PC-DVD movies and Environmental Audio-enhanced games.
The five speaker DTT2500 sells for about US$299.99 and features a built-in 24-bit DAC, multiple inputs for AC-3 Dolby Digital 5.1, Digital DIN, and analog front and rear channel connections.
