The sale of Aureal's assets to Creative Technology was approved yesterday by a US Bankruptcy Court. Creative will pay US$32.3 million in cash and stock for the bankrupt Aureal's remaining assets. Before filing for bankruptcy this spring, Aureal successfully fought off one of several lawsuits by Creative. This purchase effectively concludes all pending legal action.
Owners of sound cards featuring Aureal's Vortex and Vortex 2 sound chips should know that, while development of new drivers has all but stopped, previous drivers and technical help files are available here.
