Crackdown 3 Renders In Native 4K On Xbox Scorpio; Will Release Late 2017-October 2024
Oct 18, 2024 4:52 AM

Crackdown 3 is on track for a Holiday 2017 release, and will render in native 4K on the Xbox Scorpio.

The Crackdown 3 development team revealed as much during a recent Extra Life 2016 Charity stream on Twitch, which can be viewed here. Questions regarding Crackdown 3 and its release date were answered around the 2-hour mark in the stream. Developer Reagent Games stated that Crackdown 3 would release in the 2017 holiday season, or possibly somewhat earlier (around the 2:26:00 mark). This might imply that the game could release in the 3th quarter of next year as well but the 4th quarter of 2017 will probably be a safer assumption.

The development team also mentioned that Crackdown 3 will support native 4K resolution on Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox Scorpio console.

Crackdown 3 was initially slated for a 2016 release but was recently delayed to 2017.

Crackdown 3 is a game built for the future with a multiplayer experience that will redefine what it feels like to play games, and as we continue to work on this, it has become clear that our original timeline of delivering multiplayer to fans this summer, while maintaining the size, scope and quality of the game, would be challenging. Our top priority is to give gamers an experience they have never seen before at a scale never thought possible, and sticking to our original timeline would have compromised that goal.

The game is slated for a release on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC and will support the Xbox Play Anywhere feature.
