Product Info
As a safety measure against COVID-19, people spend more time at home. Many use the additional time inside playing videogames and with more people working from home than ever before,
I figured it would be an idea to review one of the essential items for those spending most of their time sitting – a comfortable, and supportive chair.
I reached out to Corsair and they were willing to provide me their latest gaming chair – the T3 Rush. How does Corsair’s most recent, least expensive, gaming chair support your backside? You’ll find out in this review.
Introduction and features
Inspired by performance motorsports, the T3 Rush comes 3 color variations: Charcoal, Gray/Charcoal, Gray/White. As the Charcoal version fits most gaming and work desk setups, I went with this color. Of course, this is a matter of personal taste and for the purpose of this review, I will abstain from rating the different colors.
Corsair's most recent gaming chair offers a breathable soft fabric cover instead of the imitation leather that the brand's previous chairs used. According to Corsair, this fabric retains minimal heat for comfortable and cool gaming for extended periods. Included is an adjustable padded neck cushion and memory foam lumbar pillow to support both the neck and back.

The chair base and back of the T3 Rush is built with solid steel, while the 5-point base, resting on 65mm dual-wheel casters, is made of nylon. Supported by a steel-constructed class 4 gas lift, the T3 Rush offers 100mm of adjustable seat height with a wide range of movement.
The seat back can be reclined almost 180° and comes with a lockable tilt function, which can be adjusted as needed.
Assembly
The T3 Rush arrived at my doorstep in a fairly big and heavy box. With a weight of more than 22 kg, I didn't have trouble lifting it, but due to its clumsy size, I would advise unpacking it first if you plan to assemble and use the chair upstairs.
Out of the box, the chair basically consists of four major parts - the chair base, the seat back, the control base and seat cushion which need to be connected through the gas lift and screws. Installation is fairly easy - just follow the installation instructions and you're good to go. Closely following the instructions, it took me around 30 minutes to get the T3 Rush up and running, but those familiar with assembling chairs will likely be able to assemble the chair way faster than that.
Usage
A comfortable and ergonomic chair is often overlooked while gaming and working from home, and while this shouldn’t be much of a problem for occasional use, a good chair is essential for the health of your back and a good posture when playing games and sitting in front of a desk for extended periods. When working at the office, you’ll most likely be using a supportive office desk chair, but due to companies having to suddenly switch to remote work, chances are high that you have been forced to use that really old office chair standing in the corner of your home somewhere. No worries – I’m among those who grabbed the first chair they could find, but after having tried Corsair’s offering, I can safely say that I will never go back to using a basic chair.
On top of that – did you know that you’ll likely be more focused and productive when sitting in a good chair?
Due to the use of imitation leather and colorful accents, most gaming chairs wouldn't match with the typical office setup, but this isn't the case with the T3 Rush - depending on the color, the fabric cover really blends in with your working environment while still having that 'gaming edge' due to its motorsports-inspired bucket seat. The use of a fabric cover might be less hygienic than the typical leather, but having tested Corsair's offering for a couple of weeks, I have to say that I actually prefer the breathable soft cloth exterior.
Another thing that I really liked about T3 are the 4D armrests that allow you to easily adjust the armrests based on your needs. When playing with a controller, I wanted them all the way back, and out, to support my elbows, and when typing, I would move them all the way forward, and inward. Also, when tilting the chair during a long conversation on the phone or via my headset, I wanted the armrests to be all the way down. It's a real nice addition to have on a chair, and while 4D armrests surely aren't uncommon on gaming chairs, they usually come on decent chairs above $300.
The T3 Rush is highly adjustable and even with me being fairly tall (6’3” and 90kg), I had no problem adjusting the seat for a good sitting position. I'm not the widest person, however, and I can imagine wider individuals being bothered by the chair's bucket design due to the bolsters making the chair less comfortable.

For me, the only real downsides are the plastic dual-wheel casters and the separate lumbar pillow. With Corsair's T1 Race and T2 Road Warrior both coming with rollerblade-style wheels, the choice for plastic wheel casters on the T3 might not be the best. Plastic casters are known to leave scratches on wooden surfaces over time, and for extensive use, I would highly recommend an office chair mat to prevent damage to your floor.
Whereas other gaming chairs come with attached lumbar pillows or even built-in lumbar support, Corsair has included a separate pillow for lumbar support. While it does the job, having to re-position the pillow each time you get out or lean forward, can be quite inconvenient.
Conclusion
At $299.99 you can’t go wrong with Corsair’s most recent gaming chair. It’s stylish, highly adjustable, offers plenty of support and comes with features normally seen on more expensive chairs. In a time where people spent more time sitting, the T3 Rush is a great fit for those looking for a chair that can serve as both gaming- and office chair. For larger and wider persons, the T3 might not be the best chair due to its bucked design, but this is bound to differ from person to person. Due to its plastic wheels, I highly suggest getting a chair mat to prevent damage to your wooden floor.
