Corgi and Nintendo in toy deal
Corgi and Nintendo in toy deal-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 5:32 PM

Those worried that the stream of Mario-related knick knacks will dry up soon can rest assured. Toy News International is reporting that Nintendo has signed with Corgi International Limited to keep the mascot bric-a-brac coming.

According to the site, the three-year license deal is for territories outside of Asia, and toys will be coming based on well-known characters, including Super Mario, Donkey Kong, and the Legend of Zelda. A wide range of different goods are in development, including action figures, plushies, vinyl figures, FX electronic products, iconic game replicas, and play-set environments.

Corgi International Limited was founded in 1956, is based in Hong Kong, and has offices in Chicago and the UK. The company is best known for its die-cast cars, buses, trucks, and other miniature vehicles, although it also makes movie and television prop replicas--including the Star Wars FX Lightsaber and trading card sets.

At the end of 2006, the company announced a merger with Master Replicas, which bought with it licenses for many high-profile films, including series' Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Pirates of the Caribbean. The company is also currently working on Transformers collectibles, slated to ship this autumn.

Nintendo of America's vice president Gail Tilden commented, "We know that our fans will be excited to see our popular franchises bought to life in a whole new way."
