Control Has a Hidden Debug Menu That May Provide Hints About the Game’s DLC-November 2024
Nov 26, 2024 12:34 PM

These days, publishers often spill all their DLC beans before a game is even released, but that hasn’t really been the case with Control. The game does have a season pass, but its contents remain rather mysterious. Well, we may know a little bit more now thanks to YouTuber ManFightDragon, who found a hidden developer debug menu while digging through the PC version of Control’s code. Check out a video of our YouTuber playing around with the debug menu, below.

The debug menu includes a cool free-look camera mode and some funky shaders and effects, but perhaps most interesting is the mission-select menu. For the most part, the missions are pretty clearly labelled, but there’s also one titled St01_MM_04_Marshall_START_Plus_PS4_SM15_DLC. Hmmm!

The “DLC” at the end pretty clearly indicates this is a placeholder title for an add-on mission, and “Marshall” likely refers to Helen Marshall, one of the more important, yet mysterious characters you run across during the game’s core campaign. Is Remedy prepping a mission where you have to help, save, or perhaps even play as, Helen Marshall? Seems like it may be the case.

As mentioned, Control has a $25 Season Pass that will include two major content infusions. The Season Pass is a timed PS4 exclusive. Here are the somewhat scant details:

  Expansion Pack 1 'The Foundation'

Explore the roots of the Oldest House and discover secrets unknown even to the Bureau. The Foundation doors are open, but some things should remain buried. The Foundation includes new story content and side missions as well as new weapons and mods inspired by the Oldest House's mysterious origins.

  Expansion Pack 2 'AWE'

The Bureau studied its most dangerous Altered World Events in this lost sector. The records were sealed, the objects contained, and their powers abandoned. Now, the sector is breached and the objects are loose. AWE brings new story content and side missions as well as new weapons and mods to the world of Control.

Control is available now on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. You can check out Wccftech’s full review here.
