GameSpot Hot Topics

Before we go into PS4 news I’d like to share my favorite hot topic for this week. A Link Between Worlds is an absolute treat to play. Though it can be bizarre to think that something so occasionally familiar can still be so fresh and engaging, A Link Between Worlds is itself a unique experience. Full Review.

The most commented of the week so far is Sony: Native 1080p allows you to “be a better gamer”. Sony president Shuhei Yoshida and PS4 lead architect Mark Cerny argue that developing games in 1080p "makes a difference." One of the most divisive elements for gamers surrounding the upcoming launch of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One revolves around screen resolution, especially in games like Call of Duty: Ghoshts. Read Article.

The PlayStation 4 versions of Call of Duty: Ghosts purchased at retail will run in 720p until users download a day-one patch that improves the native resolution for single-player. The launch-day patch will make the game's single-player campaign output at native 1080p. Without it, the campaign would be upscaled to the higher resolution. The game's multiplayer will run in 1080p out of the box without the update.

Community Corner

dipdish started a rather interesting conversation about the current PS4 game reviews currently on GameSpot saying the following:

  Knack: 4 points,

Killzone - Shadow Fall: 7 points,

  Resogun: 8 points,

  and, so on.

What do you guys think about scores and reviews in general? I'm actually a tad surprised to see Killzone: Shadow Fall's overall score - Join the discussion.

Benleslie5 once again joins the Community Corner with a fantastic blog about the end of the 7th Generation of Gaming. This looks like it’s going to be at least a two parter so be sure to follow him to read part 2.

Bugging Out.

No new updates to report on today. The development has been working on various aspects as well as working to maintain things that have been recently fixed.
