The Command & Conquer series has been away from the spotlight for quite some time, but it seems like the time has come for it to come back, as EA is exploring the idea of releasing remasters.
On the Command & Conquer subreddit. EA Producer Jim Vessella, who was in the production team for the third entry in the series and Red Alert 3, confirmed that EA knows about fans wanting to see the Command & Conquer back on PC. The publisher is currently exploring ideas regarding remastering the classic entries in the series.
As most of you may know, we recently announced Command & Conquer: Rivals, a mobile game set in the Command & Conquer universe. Following the reveal of Rivals, we heard you loud and clear: the Command & Conquer community also wants to see the franchise return to PC. And as a fan of C&C for over 20 years, I couldn’t agree more. With that in mind we’ve been exploring some exciting ideas regarding remastering the classic PC games, and already have the ball rolling on our first effort to celebrate the upcoming 25th Year Anniversary.
We are eager to hear your feedback to help influence our current thoughts for PC and what comes next. Over the next few weeks we’ll be talking to fans in a variety of ways. In the meantime, please share your thoughts here on the subreddit.
As stated above, it's been quite some time since a new release in the series hit PC, so remasters may be a very good way to show that there's interesting for a brand new entry in the series.
The next game in the series to be released is Command & Conquer: Rivals, a smartphone game set in the series' universe. A release date has yet to be confirmed.
