CMP Game Group, organizers of the Game Developers Conference, have announced a new event dedicated to the controversial practice of advertising in games. Called GDC FOCUS ON: Game Advertising Summit, it will be held at the San Francisco Marriot on June 9. It will feature a variety of panels and sessions on how to improve in-game-ad efficacy and revenue streams. Speakers include Xbox new media general manager Kevin Browne, Midway's director of in-game ads and promotions Sarah McIlroy, and Dave Anderson, Activision's senior director of business development.
