With E3 not even a week old, the industry is already getting pummeled by promotions of upcoming conferences (Hollywood and Games) and award shows (The MI6 Muse-Senet Awards). Adding to the chorus is CMP Media, owners of Game Developers Conference, as it continued its promotion of the GDC FOCUS ON series of one-day events. The FOCUS ON model presents "mini-conferences, each dedicated to a significant sector or trend in the video game industry," according to CMP. The company updated The Game Advertising Summit schedule, saying that Microsoft's Kevin Browne, the general manager of Xbox New Media and Franchise Development, will deliver the keynote. Others on the speaker list include Double Fusion's new CEO Jon Epstein, industry analysts Julie Ask of Jupiter and Michael Cai of Parks Associates, and business development and licensing executive Dave Anderson of Activision. The event is scheduled for June 9 in San Francisco.
