The announcement stated: "With the recent additions to Cloud 9, we thought it was important to give each team their own identity within our organization."
The original Cloud 9 HyperX is unchanged.
The Walking Zed, Cloud 9's recent pick up for the Challenger Series, will be known as Cloud9 HyperX Tempest. Their call sign is [C9T], and their color is purple. Cloud 9's new EU team has become Cloud9 HyperX Eclipse, with the call sign [C9E]. Their color is orange. Lastly, the Cloud 9 SMITE team has become Cloud9 HyperX Aurora, and will be labeled [C9A]. They will sport a dark pink (possibly fuchsia) for their team color.
Tell us what you think! Is this effort for cohesiveness a good move? Does this type of action from an organization help legitimize esports?
