Almost a year ago, developer Climax announced that it had begun development on a game for next-generation-console platforms that it code-named "Project Avalon." Today, the developer announced that a playable prototype version of the game--now simply called "Avalon"--will soon be shown to a "select group" of US-based publishers.
Climax is the developer of Microsoft's Xbox role-playing game Sudeki, THQ's Moto GP titles, and Sony's ATV Offroad Fury 3, which shipped to retail outlets today.
The developer also provided a few more details on the title. A "multi-vehicle shooter," Avalon will let players battle for "world domination" online, "taking advantage of the next-generation consoles' advanced multiplayer capabilities." The game will use the company's proprietary next-generation development toolset called Tomcat.
As of yet, neither a list of interested publishers nor a list of target platforms has been revealed. GameSpot will update you with any new information on Avalon as it comes to light.
