The classic sci-fi show Lost In Space is returning to screens. It has been announced that the iconic series--which was also made into a movie in the 1990s--is being rebooted for Netflix.
As reported by Deadline, the streaming giant has ordered a ten-episode first season, to screen in 2018. The show has been in development since November last year.
The site states that the new Lost In Space will once again focus upon the adventures of the Robinson family, who are stranded in space light years from home. Neil Marshall, director of such cult films as The Descent, Doomsday, and several episodes of Game of Thrones, is to produce as well as helm several episodes.
The original TV show ran for 83 episodes between 1965 and 1968, and was created by pioneering sci-fi and fantasy director Irwin Allen. In 1998, a Hollywood remake was released, starring Gary Oldman, William Hurt, and Matt LeBlanc.
