Feb 6, 2025 1:31 PM

Classic gaming is still big business in the gaming world, and Hasbro Interactive has announced that it will be developing and publishing eleven games based on classic Namco properties - the next wave of classics is on the way. Bringing a little old-school culture to the high-end world of games, the Classic Gaming Expo '99 has released a partial listing of celebrities who will give keynotes at the Los Vegas event at the Plaza Hotel from August 14 to August 15.

At the expo, there will be back-to-back keynotes, a museum containing rare and unreleased products, demos of classic products from Hasbro, The Blue Sky Rangers, and Nyko Technology. Attendees will also have the chance to buy, sell, and trade classic systems and software.

So far, more than thirty participants have confirmed their plans to attend, including Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari, and Mr. Ralph Baer, father of the Magnavox Odyssey. Here's a partial list of attendees:

  - Mr. Steve Cartwright, Activision designer of such classic hits as Megamania and Barnstorming for the Atari VCS.

  - Mr. David Crane, Atari programmer, Activision cofounder. Designer of numerous Atari VCS classics including Outlaw, Slot Machine, Freeway, and Pitfall!.

  - Mr. Rob Fulop, Atari programmer and Imagic co-founder. Designed the Atari VCS versions of Night Driver and Missile Command, as well as Demon Attack. Also responsible for the highly controversial Sega CD game, Night Trap.

  - Mr. Arnie Katz, Mr. Bill Kunkel, and Ms. Joyce Worley. This media trio was responsible for cofounding Electronic Games Magazine and several other publications throughout the years.

  - Mr. Ed Logg, the creator of numerous arcade hits, including Asteroids, Centipede, Millipede, Gauntlet, and Xybots.
