Square seems to be going through a bit of a 16-Bit revival these days: first, Final Fantasy Collection and Anthology, then a new installment in the Seiken Densetsu series, then Chrono Cross, and now a redux of Chrono Trigger. While a release date more specific than "1999" has not been announced, Square has already announced the game through spread ads in several game magazines that hit shelves Friday in Japan..
The rerelease will feature original animation by Akira Toriyama (and produced by famed animation studio Toei), creator of manga/anime favorites like Dragon Ball Z and Dr. Slump.
We can only hope that Square decides to bring this fantastic RPG to the states on PlayStation also.
