Chicken Little drops-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 10:51 AM

Disney's revamped computer-generated feature film Chicken Little doesn't hit theaters until November 4, but gamers interested in the latest take on the chick who cried "the sky is falling" can pick up the interactive adaptation, now available across North America.

Chicken Little on the Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, and PC picks up some time after the eponymous protagonist's well-known claims of collapsing clouds. Something of an outcast around town, Little looks for redemption and is afforded the opportunity for just that when he discovers an impending alien invasion.

A combination of flying, driving, rail shooting, and platforming gameplay mechanics, Chicken Little is the first Buena Vista Games release from its recently acquired development studio, the Salt Lake City-based Avalanche Software. Avalanche has previously worked on Tak: The Great JuJu Challenge, and is currently at work on 25 to Life. That relationship with Disney-owned Buena Vista Games allowed Avalanche greater access to the movie's development. For instance, Zach Braff, the writer, director, and star of Garden State, provides the voice of Chicken Little for the game as well as the movie.

Specially marked copies of the Xbox, PS2, and GC games come with a free movie ticket for a matinee admittance to the film (up to $7.25). The ticket is good through the end of the year.

The console and PC versions of the game are rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older. The GBA is rated E for Everyone. The PS2, Xbox, and GC versions retail for $39.99, with the GBA edition fetching $29.99 and the PC price landing at $19.99. The movie is rated G.
