If you're away from home for the holidays without a proper gaming PC, or you're stuck at work/school, you can now relive the experience of playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in new text adventure CS Story. `

　　"Non-gamer friends are due to arrive in one hour's time. You sit at your computer desk with a hot beverage. Life is great," begins the adventure.

　　At the start of the game, players are given the choice to left click on the game, right click on the game, play another game, or browse Reddit.

　　As the narrative progresses, the player has to weigh up options about the right way to play on Dust 2. There's an ASCII rendition of many Counter-Strike events, and the adventure will pose complicated moral questions, such as whether the player wants to take control of a situation or pretend to be worse than they actually are. The objective of the game is to stay away from /r/globaloffensive, because visiting the compelling subreddit will inevitably cause the player to get too distracted.

　　CS Story was made by Mojang's Owen Hill using Twine, an open-source tool for creating interactive fiction. I'm still trying to work out how to get the best ending, which hopefully involves getting a rare item from a crate.
