CDPR: More Developers Working On Cyberpunk 2077 Than On The Witcher 3 In Its Most Intensive Month-December 2024
Dec 29, 2024 2:59 AM

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 will be the studio’s most ambitious title to date, and according to the Polish studio, there are more developers working on the title than on the Witcher 3 in its most intensive month.

Following the company’s most recent earnings release, in which CD Projekt Red stated that more than 100 employees are working on Gwent: The Witcher Card Game,  a question was asked regarding the number of employees working on Cyberpunk 2077.

The answer is plain and simple: CDPR has more people working on Cyberpunk 2077 than on the Witcher 3, and development seems to be in full swing.

  Question:

21.Na prezentacji wspomniano, że ponad 100 osób z game=devu pracuje nad Gwintem, rozumiem, że reszta pracowników pracuje nad CP2077 (minus wsparcie tech. dla W3)

Translation: "In your recent presentation you have mentioned, that there are over 100 people working on Gwent. I understand that the remaining employees work on CP2077 (minus tech support for TW3)"

  Answer:

Nad Cyberpunkiem pracuje obecnie więcej osób z gamedevu niż pracowało nad trzecią częścią Wiedźmina w najintensywniejszym miesiącu.

Translation: "There are currently more game developers working on Cyberpunk 2077 than on The Witcher 3 in its most intensive month."

As reported recently, CD Projekt Red has been greatly expanding its teams in both Warsaw and Krakow to realize its high ambitions for Cyberpunk 2077.

“Well, we haven’t slowed down much in the last 5 years, perhaps except for a few long weekends, some raucous team parties, and a few personal holidays ;). It’s been The Witcher 2 straight to The Witcher 3 in parallel with Cyberpunk and then, after TW3 base game, straight onto 2 large expansions:Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. To realize our ambitions regarding Cyberpunk 2077 we need to scale the size of the team working on it which means from 300+ to 500+”, CD Projekt Red’s John Mamais recently told Gamepressure.
