CAPCOM’s Exoprimal Has Been Rated By The ESRB-September 2024
Sep 22, 2024 2:31 AM

Among the games CAPCOM will release this year alongside the Resident Evil 4 remake, and Street Fighter 6 will be the third-person shooter Exoprimal. While we haven't seen or heard much about the game in the past few months, it seems like work is proceeding smoothly, as the game has been rated in the United States by the ESRB.

While a rating summary for the game is not available on the Entertainment Software Ratings Board's official website, one of Exoprimal's previous trailers that was shown during the breaks of Capcom Cup IX featured an M Rating, suggesting that the game is getting closer to release and will make it into the announced 2023 release window.

#Exoprimal has been rated by the ESRB (Rated M). The game might be around 6 months out from release if past tends hold up.

Despite catching a little bit of flak since its announcement, Exoprimal is setting out to be a surprisingly fun game. I was able to try out the game last year thanks to the closed network test, and I enjoyed the dinosaur-shooting action more than I expected despite the limited amount of content, mostly thanks to how varied the experience felt.

At the end of a match, the two teams will go directly against each other for the final mission. During one match, my team had to collect a set number of energy cartridges, while during another, we had to protect a slow-moving box until it reached its goal. The changing winning conditions add an unpredictable element that definitely makes the game more exciting. Unpredictability seems to be what the Exoprimal development team seems to be going for, as in one of the matches, both teams were transported to a new area where they had to collaborate to defeat a Neo T-Rex. The change of pace was highly welcome, and it made the game almost feel like a new, futuristic rendition of the Monster Hunter series formula.

Exoprimal launches on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One sometime this year. We will let you know precisely when the game launches as soon as an announcement is made, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
