Capcom Showcase Set for June 12th, Will Run for 36 Minutes-October 2024
Oct 21, 2024 6:30 AM

A new Capcom Showcase digital broadcast was confirmed a few hours ago by the Japanese publisher. It will air on Monday, June 12th at 3 PM Pacific Time, or midnight British Time, and run for approximately 36 minutes.

The publisher was vague about what will be shown, only mentioning that more information about upcoming releases and future titles will be revealed at the Capcom Showcase. This is also a special event in celebration of the publisher's 40th anniversary, so there may be some big news or promotion attached to it.

Street Fighter 6 was just launched to critical and commercial success, so it might get a nod and perhaps something about the next character to be added to the roster, Rashid, supposedly coming to the fighting game this Summer.

Technically, the next title on the release schedule is the HD remaster of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, due on June 30th for PC and consoles. However, it seems unlikely that time at the Capcom Showcase would be wasted on such a minor title.

On the other hand, a launch trailer and maybe information about the post-launch roadmap for Exoprimal are nearly a given since the third-person cooperative shooter about slaying hordes of dinosaurs is out on July 13th.

However, fans are really dreaming about other stuff. Itsuno's Dragon's Dogma 2 just received a beautiful trailer at the PlayStation Showcase, but it wouldn't hurt to get more details (including a release window) and more gameplay about the action RPG.

One game that could make an appearance is Pragmata. Originally unveiled during 2020's PlayStation 5 Future of Gaming event (five months before the console's launch), it was later delayed to 2023, but at this point it is unlikely that it will be released even this year. All we know about the game is that it is a sci-fi action/adventure title set in a dystopian future on Earth's Moon and that the developers are trying to deliver a profound story.

The Capcom Showcase could also feature the Resident Evil 4 remake 'Separate Ways' DLC starring Ada Wong. Additionally, Monster Hunter fans may be hoping to see an announcement for the next mainline installment, though it may be a bit early for that.

Some of these Capcom games could also appear at Geoff Keighley's Summer Games Fest (due on June 8th) or at Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase (due on June 11th). Either way, lots of announcements are about to happen. Stay tuned.
